Actress/Singer Makeda Tene, is an incredible vocal talent who is breaking down barriers between different musical genres. Comfortable singing in 5 different languages, she is a crossover artist who moves effortlessly between Gospel, Jazz and Classical styles. Makeda Tene received a BFA in acting in NYC from Marymount Manhattan College, and also holds a Masters Degree in Psychology from Pepperdine University. She has been featured as a guest vocalist performing worldwide, and has shared the stage with notable music greats such as Nancy Wilson, Byron Cage, Les Mcann, and Deneice Williams. During the Verizon Wireless' "How Sweet The Sound" National Gospel Competition, Marvin Sapp noted that Makeda's voice, "reminds me a of a young Kathleen Battle singing in the style of Porgy and Bess". She also won “Best Soloist” at this event!!

On a recent performance in Lagos, West Africa, Makeda performed in front of a live televised audience of over 1 million people. She has also performed in London, Copenhagen, Belize, and throughout the U.S.A. What makes Makeda so unique is her musicality, power and range as well as the wealth of her musical background. Equally at home singing Jazz ,Gospel or Opera, she is a talent that will soon be known worldwide for her amazing vocal abilities.
